Bus topology is a topology that uses Coaxial cable physical by using the T-Connector with a 50 ohm terminator at the end of the network.Bus topology using a single cable that both ends closed as well as allthe wires there are nodes.
Bus topology characteristics are:
It is one cable that both ends are closed where all the wires there arenodes.
Most prevevalent because it is simple in installation
Merewati 2-way signal with one cable is likely to occur
collision (collision data or tercampurnya data).
The biggest problem in case of breaking up or loose on the wrong
one connector then the whole network will be stopped
Bus topology is a transmission line where the signal is received and
posted on each tool/device connected on one straight line (cable), the signal will only be captured by the intended tool, while other toolsare not a destination will ignore the signal/will only be bypassed signal.
The preparation is done by preparing equipment. Equipment or materials required for the network with Bus Topology is:
a) Nic (Network Interface Card/LAN Card)
A jarinagn card (LAN Card) installed in expansion slot on the motherboard of a computer server or workstation (client) so that the computer can be connected into a network system. Judging from the type of its interface on the PC there are two types namely PCI and ISA.
b) cables and connectors
Cables used for networks with topology Bus is using coaxial cable. Coaxial cable provides a pretty good protection from cross talk (due tothe electric field and the phase of the signal) and electical inteference(derived from lightning, motor and radio system) because there is a kind of metal can/metal in the cables.
Coaxial cable types include cable TV (antenna), a thick coaxial and thin coaxial data transfer rate maximum speed of 10 mbps. Coaxial cable or cable RG-58 cable or 10base2 (ten base two) has a range of between 300 m and can reach above 300 m with the use of repeater. Tobe used as the network cable must comply with the IEEE 802.3 10BASE2, with an average diameter of 5 mm and ranges are usually dark colored.
The connectors used in Bus Topology network is to use the BNC connector. BNC connector there are 3 types namely:
BNC connector BNC Connectors that are mounted on the ends of thecoaxial cable.
TerminatorBNC BNC Connector mounted on the ends of the Bus Topology network with a rated resistance of 50 ohm.
TBNC Is the connector that is connected to a network card (LAN Card) to the BNC Connector and or to the terminator to the other end ofthe network.
Fix Network Connectivity on PC
Connectivity improvements is action to fix or connect a client computer with a computer network. Actions taken include installation and reconfiguration of the devices replaced.
1) installation of network card (LAN Card) on the Motherboard
Installation of network card on a motherboar adapted to the network card which is owned as to whether using model ISA or PCI. The ISA model network card can not be paired on a PCI slot and vice-versa. Sothe installation must comply with the network card slot expansion. Because of the size of the expansion slot that is not the same then the ease in installation so that it is not likely to be confused. Installation ofnetwork card can be done on any slot for the slots not used by other components or is still vacant. Because if you move the component already exists then when switching on the computer windows will detect repeated on all components so that it will perform this reset initialization occurs on windows 98, Windows 2000 and windows XP.
2) Wiring of the supplied
Coaxial Cabling and connectors BNC
Installation of Cable Coaxial BNC connector and should be done with caution not to short or short circuit occurred because it can cause cable we make make network system being down. Check whether the cable is in good condition or not disconnect in the Middle also has to be done because this is also in anticipation of connectivity failure does not occur in order. The checking can be done with a multimeter on either end are there short or break up is not. If no then can be made dialing Coaxial BNC connector on the Cable. When you are finishedconnecting the Coaxial Cable of the supplied BNC should in your check out again if there is a short or disconnect the cable in with either using a multimeter.
3) installation of connectors on network system
Coaxial Cabling with BNC connectors on the network with a Bus topology
Coaxial Cabling with BNC connectors on the network with a Bus topology using the T-Connector with a 50 ohm terminator at the end of the network. Bus topology using a single cable that both ends are closed where all the wires there are nodes.
